These links provide parents with information they can use to be involved in their children’s education in meaningful ways.

 

Louisiana’s Family Support Toolbox: Features our standards, parent guides to our curriculum, practice tests and assessment guides.

 

National PTA Parents’ Guides to Student Success: Created for grades K-8 high school English language arts/literacy and mathematics the guides provide clear, consistent expectations for what students should be learning at each grade in order to be prepared for college and career.

 

ELA Road Maps (K-8, high school), and Math Road Maps (K-8, high school)

 

LearnZillion.com: LearnZillion offers a free and growing set of Math and English Language resources for grades 2-12 that have been developed by expert teachers.

 

Eureka Math Module Guides for Parents Simple overviews of the Eureka Math Modules to help parents understand what their child will be learning in each module.

 

Khan Academy: Extensive video library, interactive challenges, and assessments in Math. Also covers Science and other subjects (4-12).

 

Webmath: a math-help web site that generates answers to specific math questions and problems. In addition to the answers, Webmath also shows the student how to arrive at the answer.

 

Math Milestones: This site has short video clips to illustrate math, reading and writing milestones for each grade level. They show important skills students should be working on in specific grade levels.

Homework Policy

All students should have homework each night (mostly ELA and math).

6th Grade - about 10 minutes per subject

7th grade - about 15 minutes per subject

8th grade - about 20 minutes per subject

Homework grades count as 10% of a student's overall class grade per Bossier Parish Grading Policy.

Assignments may include written work, studying, practice, and projects.

Homework completion is essential for a student's academic success.

Change of Address

Parents, if you have moved and/or changed your mailing address this school year, please send a copy of a utility bill to the office for proof of residence so we may update your child’s records.
